The Rio Open 2014 draw is out, and World No.1 Rafael Nadal is back in action and ready to compete on clay in the inaugural ATP 500 tournament in Brazil. Top-seeded Rafa will compete with friend and fellow countryman David Ferrer and third seeded Italian Fabio Fognini.

Rafa’s first round match is against Daniel Gimeno Traver. He could have a potential quarterfinal with Marcel Granollers and a semifinal with Tommy Robredo. In second seed David Ferrer’s half are Fabio Fognini and Nicolas Almagro. A possible final is Rafa vs. Ferrer or Rafa vs. Fognini.

Rafa’s injury at the Australian Open and a subsequent stomach ailment had him withdraw from Buenos Aires  earlier this week and left him little time to prepare for this tournament. However, an exuberant Rafa was seen practicing in Rio, and he is the King of Clay. Good luck & vamos Rafa!
