Paris Masters Draw: Rafael Nadal pushes to secure year end No. 1

The BNP Paribas Masters Paris draw is out, and Rafael Nadal has a bye in the first round. The World No. 1  is seeded first at the tournament. He will play the winner of the match between Marcel Granollers and Dmitry Tursunov in the second round. In his quarter are Jerzy Janowicz, Ernests Gulbis, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Richard Gasquet.

In Rafa’s half are David Ferrer, Milos Raonic, Gilles Simon, and Tomas Berdych. In the opposite half, Novak Djokovic and Stanislas Wawrika are drawn in the same quarter. Roger Federer and Juan Martin del Potro are drawn in the other quarter.

This tournament is especially important this year because it will determine who gets to claim the 3 remaining berths to the World Tour Finals, and it could also seal the deal for Rafa securing the year end No. 1 ranking. Paris has always been great to Rafa this summer. Here’s hoping that Rafa will celebrate another championship victory there this year.

Good luck, Rafa! Vamos!
