Rafael Nadal wins R3 at Cincinnati, to face Federer in QF

Rafael Nadal defeated Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 to win round 3 of the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati. He has made it to the quarterfinals, to face  none other than defending champion Roger Federer himself.

The first set saw Rafa playing tight games, but consolidating to pull through. Up a double break, he served and took the set, 6-2. The second set was much tighter, with Dimitrov taking the first game to start and then keeping pace. Rafa got a break in the middle of the second set as Dimitrov double faulted to lead 4-3, but Dimitrov broke back, eventually taking the set 7-5. The third set went more like the first, and saw Rafa stepping up his game. Rafa broke Dimitrov early, and kept his lead to win the set at 6-2.

We’re looking forward to another Fedal quarterfinal tomorrow! Vamos!
