Today, we learned that Rafa’s boat was docked with his girlfriend Maria Francisca Perello in Menorca for the weekend, courtesy of this article. The photo accompanying the article says it all: Let’s leave him alone to enjoy his time off, what little is left of it! As fans, we tend to want to know every minute detail of our idols’ whereabouts. To an extent, that’s acceptable – it’s the price of fame, as they say. But when excessive photographing constitutes an invasion of privacy, and it is clearly bothersome, how far is too far?
Let’s face it, Rafa cannot go to an airport without a slew of pictures with fans. How does he even make it to his flight, especially since we know that he mostly arrives late? That is not to say that when one has an opportunity to take a picture with an idol, one should pass it up. But there is a time and place for it. When the celebrity is with his family, seeking some alone time in a restaurant and trying to eat, taking pictures of him every bite he takes is a bit too much.
After nine finals and seven wins this year, Rafa is finally enjoying time with his family. Let’s give him some space!

I agree, he should be allowed some privacy with his friends and family. Can’t wait to see him back in action though, I missed him at Wimbledon so much.
