Now you know that’s really Rafael Nadal (or his PR Team) on Facebook

Did the real Rafael Nadal just send you a friend request? Now you can know for sure, thanks to a new Facebook feature: Verified Pages.

Much like verified accounts on Twitter, verified Facebook pages will now display a small blue check mark beside their owner’s name on the social network. The check mark will also appear beside the individual’s name in search results, as well as anywhere else on Facebook where it appears.

If the check mark does not show up next to the name of the person that’s represented by the name, it’s not their official account. Therefore, the only way to tell if you’re communicating with the real Rafael Nadal is to see if his account has been verified, and has the blue check mark next to his name.

We are not verified but as you know we, Rafael Nadal Fans, are Rafael Nadal’s largest unofficial fan club online.
